Seriously. This is getting really annoying. I’ve already blacklisted several IP addresses from you but you somehow keep getting through. I don’t know what you’re trying to say, nor do I care. No comments you leave on this site will stay in place for more than an hour or two anyway, so what’s the point?

Dear everyone else – apologies. Annoying German spam problems… (At least, I assume it’s spam – I don’t read German. Bloody annoying, at any rate.)

  2. Appears to be a spammer. He/she seems to post bits of EU-related news stories to blogs such as yours, EUobserver, AFOE and others judging by googling the name. Probably automated, apart from the comment on this post.

    His/her German isn’t good either. Mine isn’t and even I can tell.

  5. Better still install Akismet. It stops all of this… I’ve never had a problem with a Raivo Pommer.

  7. G – they appear to be Estonian, which might explain the poor German.

    Longrider – ta, hadn’t heard of that one, so may test it out. Have tried a few in the past, but they’ve always ended up blocking legit comments and annoying me even more than the spam.

    Jon – that’s the odd thing. I’ve got Askimet, so it should have picked up on this by now.

    Mat – I’m pondering a post on FF. Bit rusty on Irish politics, though, despite checking Slugger’s feed every day. This means that any such post would involve actual research… Shocking!

    If he’s going around posting to a hundred blogs by hand — time-consuming, but possible for a crank — then no spam-trap will stop him.
