Do the maths. At its current level it IS unwarranted – in comparison to the other member states. It was set 20-odd years ago, and times have changed. Unfortunately, the likelihood of renegotiating it to a fairer level is pretty slim.
And robin, please – rather than continuing to make pointless comments with less than no purpose other than to get across you ill-thought-out received opinions, give some figures or facts or anything. Form a coherent argument for God's sake – it's not hard. Just for the love of God stop with these pathetic short sentence responses to everything. It's getting very tedious.
