This is the website of James Clive Matthews, a freelance writer, editor and online content consultant specialising in editorial strategy across a broad range of content and publication types. Starting out writing about film, history, politics and travel for publications ranging from the Times Literary Supplement to Starburst, VisitBritain’s official magazine to The English Garden, the long, double-barrelled surname has usually necessitated shortening the James to “J” to fit.
